DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING

The college offers courses leading to a four year B.E. degree in Civil Engineering starting in the academic year 2007-2008. The department has well qualified faculty and supporting staff. The staff has expertise in areas such as, Structures, Soil Mechanics, Environmental Engineering and Transportation Engineering. The department has adequate laboratories to meet the needs of the students majoring in Civil Engineering.
The department places special emphasis on engineering automation. The students will be exposed to advanced computing techniques used for analysis and design. In this regard, the department provides opportunities for students to acquire knowledge in the latest softwares such as, STAADPRO, GIS, AUTOCAD, MS Project and ANSYS. Expertise gained in these automation tools will enhance the competitive edge of our graduates in the ever tighter job market.
Civil Engineering plays a major role in the management of the environment. The department promotes the quality and value based education by creating awareness in the future trends in environmental restoration and management of the environment.
